Allana Buick & Bers (ABB) performed professional services for the San Francisco International Airport under a five year, $1.5 million continuing contract, for architectural and engineering design, construction document preparation, construction administration and building envelope design and renovation.
At the time, ABB´s initial involvement for the South Terminal and its associated boarding areas pertained to the enormous quantity of leaks. The scope of the construction eventually included roof replacement with upgraded insulation, augmented roof slopes, mechanical equipment supports, roof drainage improvements, wall waterproofing, metal wall panels, curtain wall restoration, and skylight modifications. Additionally, designers and consultants prepared the construction documents for the roof replacement and curtain wall restoration as well as the field technicians and project managers investigated the sources of the leaks.
