Allana Buick & Bers (ABB) was retained by The Matteson Companies to conduct a property condition assessment of the Masonry Shopping Center in Ceres, California. Our team evaluated the site exteriors, interviewed the maintenance staff and reviewed the 2004 construction documents. As a new structure built to current code, there were, as expected, very few design or building defects. From a visual observation, most areas of the new project were in good condition. The few building defects that were discovered required immediate repair, while the builder’s contractor was still on site. Using the existing contract the contractor dealt with the “punch list” issues we found.
